Hunter Douglas PowerView® Pebble Remote (Generation 1 and Generation 2)

Simple Instruction Guide

 

Remote Layout 

  • Group buttons (1–6): Circular buttons around the edge — Select which shade or group of shades to control.
  • OPEN ▲ : Fully open the selected shade(s).
  • CLOSE ▼ : Fully close the selected shade(s).
  • STOP ■ : Stop shade movement instantly.
  • FAVORITE (heart icon ♥ or center button): Move to your preset "favorite" position.
  • Left/Right Arrows ← → (on some shade types, e.g., Top-Down/Bottom-Up or tilting blinds): Adjust secondary functions like vane tilt or bottom rail.


Basic Daily Operation

  1. Select a group: Press one of the numbered buttons (1–6). It lights up to confirm selection.
    • All shades assigned to that group will now respond.
    • To control ALL shades on the remote at once: Press the Favorite (♥) button while holding the group button, or quickly press multiple groups.
  2. Move shades:
    • Press ▲ OPEN → Shades go fully open.
    • Press ▼ CLOSE → Shades go fully closed.
    • Press ■ STOP → Immediate stop (great for partial positions).
    • Press ♥ FAVORITE → Shades go to your saved favorite position.
  3. Manual jog (fine adjustment): While a shade is moving, tap STOP, then tap OPEN or CLOSE briefly to nudge it up/down a little.
  4. For special shades (e.g., Duette Top-Down/Bottom-Up): Use ← → arrows after selecting the group to control the top or bottom rail.

Entering Programming Mode (to add shades, reset, etc.)

  • Press and hold the STOP ■ button on the back of the remote (or the manual button if visible) for ~6 seconds.
  • Group lights will flash — you're now in programming/join mode (lasts ~20 seconds; press any button to extend).

Adding a Shade to a Group (Joining)

  1. Put the remote in programming mode (hold STOP ~6 seconds until flashing).
  2. Press the group number (1–6) you want to add the shade to.
  3. On the shade's motor/headrail, press and hold the manual/program button (usually a small button on the headrail) for ~6 seconds until the shade jogs (moves slightly up/down twice).
  4. The shade is now joined to that group.

Setting a Favorite Position

  1. Manually move the shade(s) to your desired favorite position using OPEN/CLOSE/STOP.
  2. Press and hold the ♥ FAVORITE button for ~6 seconds until the shade jogs.
  3. Favorite is saved for that group.

Resetting a Shade (Remove from Remote/Network)

  1. Put remote in programming mode.
  2. Select the group the shade is in.
  3. On the shade's manual button: Press and hold ~6 seconds until it jogs twice (this removes it from the network).

Pairing Multiple Remotes (So They Control the Same Shades)

If you have more than one remote:

  1. Take the "master" remote (one already programmed with shades).
  2. Put a new/second remote into reset: Remove back cover → Press reset button (small pinhole) for 6 seconds until lights flash.
  3. On the master remote: Hold STOP ~6 seconds (programming mode).
  4. Bring remotes close (~20 cm / 8 inches) and press STOP on the master — the new remote copies the network.

Battery Replacement

The remote uses 2 × CR2032 coin batteries 

  1. Twist off the back cover (use a coin in the slot).
  2. Replace both CR2032 batteries (positive side up).
  3. Twist cover back on.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • No response? Bring remote closer to shades (range ~30–50 ft, affected by walls). Add a PowerView Repeater if needed for larger homes.
  • Lights flashing randomly? Remote may need reset (hold reset button 6 seconds).
  • Shades jogging on their own? Low battery in shade motor or interference — check batteries.
  • For app/voice control (Alexa, Google, Siri): You need a PowerView Hub (separate device) connected to Wi-Fi.
